Rently and Zillow Join Forces for a Seamless & Secure Self-Guided Tour Experience

Rently and Zillow have announced an integration that lets renters book Rently self-guided tours directly from multifamily and single family Zillow rental listings.

For renters, on-listing booking creates a faster, more flexible path to seeing homes with fewer steps. For property managers and owners, capturing tours directly from the listing helps drive more Zillow-sourced volume from qualified, ready-to-tour renters, while streamlining scheduling so staff can focus on higher-value work.

“Today’s renters expect to act the moment they find a place and to feel confident in the process,” said Merrick Lackner, CEO of Rently. “Keeping scheduling at the point of search meets that expectation by removing delay and uncertainty. It gives renters a simple, dependable experience while simplifying operations for owners and managers.”

What’s Launching

  • – Streamlined Handoff: Renters can schedule their tours directly on Zillow, without navigating over to Rently. The experience is smooth, integrated, and meant to increase conversions as fewer renters drop off when scheduling self-tours.
  • – Real-Time Availability: Renters see real-time tour availability for each property, right on Zillow. They pick a time, lock it in, and they’re all set for their tour.
  • – Simplified Access: Once a tour is scheduled, Rently’s secure tech takes over. After identity is confirmed and upon tour check-in, renters are provided with a one-time access code and touring instructions, meaning there’s zero hassle when it comes to viewing the property.

What it Means for Property Managers

If you’re a property manager, this integration isn’t just a win for prospective renters—it’s a win for you, too. One of the biggest challenges for leasing teams is managing the logistics of scheduling tours. With this new setup, you can rest assured you’ll be attracting even more renter leads by offering self-guided tours:

42% of renters prefer to tour outside of regular business hours (Rently Self-Touring data for 2023-2024).

Together, Zillow and Rently are removing friction from a high-intent moment and simplifying the path from listing to tour across properties. Your prospective renters will schedule their own tours at their convenience, safely, and securely, without requiring manual coordination from your team.

More self-tours means fewer phone calls, and faster lease signings. It’s a streamlined process that opens up more opportunities for potential tenants to see your properties, all while reducing the time and effort it takes to manage the process. Plus, more tours generally mean faster leasing cycles, which helps reduce vacancy rates. In short, it’s good for business.

A New Era for Renters and Property Managers

Renters today expect flexibility, convenience, and control over the touring process, and this integration delivers exactly that.

As more renters gravitate toward self-service options, Zillow and Rently are leading the charge. This partnership is setting a new standard for how people tour and secure rental properties, making the experience more user-friendly and efficient for everyone involved.
