As the year ends, it’s a great time to reflect on our achievements, challenges, and lessons from 2024. It’s also a time to celebrate the milestones we’ve accomplished together.

At Rently, we’ve learned that true success is built on transparency, collaboration, and meaningful relationships. These principles have driven us to create solutions that resonate with our customers and exceed their expectations.

This year, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all our customers for their valuable feedback and partnership. Together, we’ve turned challenges into opportunities and ideas into impactful results. Here’s to building on these successes as we look forward to 2025!

Rently’s 2024 Year-In-Review

Rently’s persistent drive for innovation

Rently’s steadiness is not just a mirror of our leadership’s longevity, but a tribute to our relentless pursuit of innovation and adaptation to the changing needs of our customers. Innovation is the core of our operations. Boasting the most extensive development team in our field, we can swiftly cater to customer and market requirements.

Rently continuously looks to improve how our customers use and communicate with us. In 2024, we launched the Rently Care Center. This self-serve portal gives our customers easy access to important Rently information. It includes detailed invoice and order history, case management for billing or tech support, and a library of knowledge base articles.

We also created an ecommerce store, RentlyGO. It allows customers to place online orders 24/7, efficiently track orders with real-time status updates, access order history with the ability to re-order, and view detailed hardware invoices.

At the recent NARPM event in October, Rently introduced new Single Family Pricing Plans. Property managers, owners, and operators can even sign up instantly online. We also announced our new integration with CodeBox, giving operators greater control of their lockbox inventory.

Here’s a snapshot of all the amazing hardware and software features released in 2024:

Smart Home & Access Control

Rently continues to lead the industry with innovative smart home technology offerings. Our tailored solutions enable most rental property owners/operators to focus on cost savings, asset protection, and operational efficiency.

Many are finding that after using Rently’s smart home and access control solutions, they can improve tenancy rates. They also lower operating costs and gain more flexibility in operations. Additionally, they increase their net operating income (NOI) and, most importantly, better protect their properties.

In 2024, we introduced a dual-purpose device, Rently’s Access Panel with Intercom. This secure access control solution with a built-in intercom helps with visitor management at community entrances. It can also serve as a secure access panel and controller for amenities or elevators.

Our solution manages access to front gates and common areas. You can choose to use mobile, PIN code, or fob credentials. Staff can also use the Rently portal. Operators can now easily monitor and manage everything remotely, providing flexibility and a safer community for all.

We’ve also released other new hardware and software features:

Software

  • Multi-day work orders
  • Google Home and Amazon Alexa integrations
  • Red alerts for smart locks and hubs
  • HVAC maintenance alerts and new settings
  • Staff code reset alerts

Rently’s continued commitment to prevent rental fraud

While we continue to innovate, the security of our solutions remains central to our development philosophy. We invest more than one million dollars every year on engineering solutions to help our customers prevent rental fraud.

Since early 2023, Rently clients have experienced a 27% reduction in reported scams. While this reduction is significant, we continue to prioritize the development of cutting-edge security features to make our platform the most secure in the industry.

Rently takes a multi-layered approach to detect and deter rental fraud, proactively mitigating risks for our clients. This includes foundational security measures before self-guided tours, and customizable security techniques along the entire renter journey. The result is the most secure self-guided touring platform.

Rently’s advanced security tools use dynamic machine learning to analyze and flag suspicious activities before, during, and after tours. Developers specifically created these tools for regions where rental fraud poses a major issue.

In 2024, Rently also introduced a new lead verification service after working very closely with clients. They wanted to mitigate risk earlier in the leasing lifecycle, before prospective renters arrive at their properties. Verified Renter, our new lead verification service delivers high-intent, less-risky leads that are more active and sign more leases.

Rently’s Verified Renter process streamlines self-guided tours while prioritizing security. Potential renters begin by verifying their identity with their Social Security number, enabling a soft credit check. They also complete a location verification step. Once verified, renters receive lockbox or smart lock codes for self-guided tours.

This process not only deters scammers from accessing the platform but also helps property managers focus on qualified leads. By confirming identity and providing a Resident Score, property managers can prioritize follow-ups without limiting verified renters’ ability to tour properties.

Rently also added Fake Listing Monitoring to help property managers stay ahead of fake landlord scams and potential squatting. Fake Listing Monitoring, powered by Property Shield, scans online rental listing platforms for unauthorized duplicate/fake property listings, and promptly removes them.  This service offers clients a powerful tool to enhance the security of their rental properties and protect their brand’s online reputation.

Rently’s push to make a difference

Rently understands how businesses can have a positive social impact on key community and national issues. At Rently, we aim to be a socially responsible company that uses our brand to raise awareness and make a difference. This commitment is now part of our business mission.

This year’s Rently Summit theme was “Preserve & Protect Your Community.” We emphasized the importance of caring for both the people we serve and the environment we all live in. With the Summit being held in Newport Beach, California, by the water, we partnered with 4ocean, whose mission is to end the ocean plastic crisis.

We’re thrilled to share that our attendees helped remove 1,220 lbs of ocean plastic/trash. Rently matched this effort, bringing the total to 2,440 lbs — over a TON!

A huge thank you to our attendees and 4ocean for your incredible work.

Rently employees also delivered hope to children at Christmas time with our Toy For Tots toy drive. The United States Marine Corps Reserve runs this program to give toys to children whose parents cannot afford gifts for Christmas.

A bright 2025 is on the horizon

As we look to the future, we here at Rently remain steadfast in our dedication to excellence. We understand the importance of being a dependable partner in a dynamic and competitive landscape. Our focus remains on delivering exceptional value, fostering collaborative relationships, and continuing to innovate in ways that drive mutual growth and success.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and look forward to achieving new milestones together.
